Are you passionate about taking Search to the next level? The Multimedia Search Quality team in Bing is looking for a self-motivated, highly passionate Researcher/Developer. This role centers on incorporating research into the Image/Video and Core Search engines in collaboration with Microsoft Research and other teams across Microsoft.
Responsibilities include:
- Improving currently used algorithms for Data Mining, Ranking, Query understanding, Relevance measurement and other tasks related to improving Multimedia search quality
- Designing, coding, measuring and shipping improvements in the multimedia search ranking/relevance/clustering/item matching algorithms
- Working with other engineering, scientific, and product teams to deliver a highly relevant, high-performance, high-availability search experience to the end user
- Contributing to engineering best practices
You must have the following skills and qualifications for this job:
- Experience in applying machine learning/data processing/statistical modeling to the real-world problems. Knowledge of the search/ranking algorithms and their effectiveness metrics is a big plus.
- Solid software development and engineering experience (C/C++, C#, SQL).
- Great design and problem solving skills, with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence at scale
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE/Signal Processing, or related field required
- The most successful candidates will possess the ability to learn new techniques from textbooks or research papers + strong engineering skills.
