Job Overview
Plexus Engineering Solutions is seeking a software design engineer to develop embedded software for complex electronic products in the Medical, Industrial/Commercial, Networking/Communications and Defense/Security/Aerospace Sectors
Responsibilities
- Participate in full life-cycle activities of software development process including specification, architecture, design and verification
- Participate in discussions with customers to determine software product requirements
- Assist business development team with providing accurate project proposals and risk mitigation of software activity
- Communicate software concept plans with the development team, the project manager and the customer
- Demonstrate leadership and support software tool and resource development
- Assist group manager and group members in the development of technology roadmaps
- Provide input to group manager when establishing group objectives
Qualifications
All candidates must have legal authorization to permanently live and work in the United States without visa or employer sponsorship.
- Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Development experience using 8-bit and 32-bit microprocessors
- Demonstrated proficiency with C or C++
- Previous success with hardware-software integration in a lab environment
- Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity and use of various operating systems such as Windows CE, Embedded Linux, and VxWorks
- Understand structured embedded software design and hardware-software integration in a digital lab environment
- Experience with multiple microprocessor architectures
- Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
