Software Engineer - ActiveNetwork - Draper, UT - Active Network seeks a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our growing Java Development team in Draper, UT.
In this position, you will work with a fun team of skilled developers to design and implement web-based software solutions and products for large conferences, conventions, and trade shows taking place around the world
Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and maintain web-based software applications.
- Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain.
- Follow verbal and written instructions from System Architects and Business Analysts to meet the custom needs of our clients.
- Work with the Quality Assurance Team to make sure the product is fully tested.
- Estimate development schedules and determine project scope.
- Have ownership of deliverables and produce quality work.
- As needed, travel to events to ensure custom code works as-designed during the event.
Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of relational database fundamentals and SQL
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or currently working towards degree.
- Able to quickly diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.
- Hard working, able to multi-task and manage time well.
- Desire to learn, take ownership, and produce quality work
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to continually learn new skills and technologies.
- Willingness to occasionally travel
Desired skills:
- 5+ years experience with Java, JSP, Servlet, SQL, JDBC, XML, Spring, Hibernate, and Struts.
