Accountable for all aspects of Process Engineering development, validation, commercialization, and technical support for bakery overall, as well as the dough-enrobed category. 

Process Development Engineering Leadership and support for all new product and maintenance projects. Identify and implement innovative, practical application and modification of existing technologies to achieve business goals of commercializing new products or improving existing products. Provide project leadership in the development and commercialization of new products, product improvement, and cost savings. 

Work on multiple interdisciplinary projects, setting direction for how projects are carried out, plan timetables, identify and organize project team, coordinate other resources to achieve goals, implement plan, monitor progress, and lead all communication of same within organization and outside of organization. 

Design and execute experiments, analyze, and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations for specific projects. 

Provide and communicate technical and business risk assessment and perspective for assigned projects. 

Develop process specifications and ensure training and transfer of specification knowledge to QA and Operations. 

Technical Support as the key overall bakery and dough-enrobed process and equipment technical leader for RPC. Support Corporate Engineering and Operations to resolve process issues and manage process changes. Accountable for communicating within the organization the company's current and future process capability and improved versatility. 

Process Innovation and/or processing equipment modification to achieve business goals of commercializing new products and product platforms. Research and gain thorough understanding and knowledge of state of the art and emerging technologies in bakery product and processes. Champion and lead the development and implementation of new product and process technologies. Provide innovative solutions for overall bakery and the dough-enrobed category. 

Collaboration with cross-functional teams on implementing new equipment and processes. Provide process specifications and support to assure smooth rollouts of new equipment and processes. Lead the process design and review on new capability expansion, cost enhancement, and/or process improvement opportunities within existing manufacturing facilities. Develop those opportunities into defined projects, and provide the necessary design/development and project execution to implement the improvement or new capability. 

What do I need to be considered a candidate?
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering (Food, Chemical, or Mechanical) required 
  • 10+ years of process development with a minimum of 5 years practical bakery experience. Must have experience implementing new bakery process technology 
  • 4+ years as project manager, team leader, and/or group leader working with mid to senior level technical professionals on complex projects 
  • Must be a good problem solver; must be able to identify, interpret and analyze the correct data, and provide detailed directions to development projects. 
  • Maintains active knowledge and understanding in areas beyond Process Development, including Product and Package Development, QA, Project Engineering, and a thorough understanding of Marketing needs and financial hurdles. 
  • Demonstrated skills of food engineering fundamentals and applications, knowledge of statistics, problem solving techniques, engineering design and economics. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing process, equipment, and product solutions. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of product and process development flow from conception to product launch. 
  • Proven ability to transcribe project requirements into effective technical solutions through sound applications. 
  • Understanding of continuous improvement applications in engineering design. 
  • Requires the ability to interact and communicate effectively with Senior R&D Management, Product Development, QA, Plant Management and Line Operators. 
  • Sustains a high level of competence and professionalism in a dynamic business environment (e.g. proficiency in driving team alignment on technical solutions and strategies). 
  • Excellent leadership qualities, verbal and written communication, and prioritizing skills. 
  • Proven effectiveness in working collaboratively within a matrix organization. 

Advanced PC skills: Windows environment, word processing, CAD program, statistical software, and spreadsheets.
