The Product Supply team is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our Deployment and Operational Engineering team supporting the supply side of the e-commerce site. This position is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, supporting and troubleshooting systems infrastructure and is directly accountable for systems availability, functionality, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities:
Engineers the support and maintenance of large-scale production and pre-production infrastructure, including the design and development of tools and scripts to assist with such maintenance. Assist in-house product teams with regularly scheduled product builds, deployments, hot fixes as needed Designs and develops high-performance and highly available groups of servers for resource-intensive applications Develops best practices, operational procedures and design documentation including change controls Plans and coordinates system utilization, and performs growth analysis and capacity planning Reviews current systems and makes technical/process recommendations for improving efficiency Work closely with our 24 x 7 x 365 NOC in support of Incident Management to minimize the impact of outages Authoring of technical documentation and training material Develop automation to support environmental tasks using scripting tools

Qualifications:
Requires a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or 3+ years equivalent work experience Requires familiarity with Ruby on Rails and experience with MySQL and Nginx Familiarity with Linux environments Sound understanding of relational databases, PC architecture, and networking fundamentals Understanding of monitoring concepts and usage of Ops Manager 2+ years of experience supporting ecommerce sites Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly self-motivated and directed Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMWare Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Strong customer service focus Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Server or network administration a plus ITIL familiarity or certification a plus
