The Intern Software Engineer works in the Recorder development team with members of the development organization, QA and Tier 3 Support and is responsible for providing assistance in the development, and the implementation of analytical, enterprise, server side applications.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
- Implements, tests, and supports VoIP, TDM, and Screen recording and Workforce Optimization related applications.
- Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
- Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test execution, and certification of software.
- Responsible for writing software in areas such as unit tests, load tests and prototypes.
- May participate in Design Reviews.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Escalates urgent issues to Engineering management.
- May function in a support capacity with the following added responsibilities:
- Contributes to the troubleshooting and development of technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Helps create workaround solutions when product procedures have failed.
- Escalates urgent issues requiring more in-depth knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have or be studying towards BS degree in Computer Science or related technical engineering degree.
- Must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Design and development knowledge with C++ and ideally at least one other programming language (Java preferred).
- Demonstrable experience of self-study and personal development in an appropriate computing related field such as RaspberryPi, or Ardunio projects.
- Must be comfortable building computers from their component parts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminial search, OFAC, and SS verification.
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge of development at the network and socket level.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized person with analytical skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with aspects of concurrency, hardware and high availability.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Adapts to, and maintains effectiveness, when working in unfamiliar situations or with people whose styles or approach is different to own.
- Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
